Learn More About Oysters

  • Paper on the Cultivation of Oysters - This provides an excellent overview of the Eastern Oyster Crassostrea Virginica. It discusses the lifecycle, habitat and aquaculture.
  • UNH Oyster Restoration Program - Ray Grizzle and his team have done some excellent work in New Hampshire's Great Bay. He also has been a valuable resource for MOP.
  • Island Creek Oysters - The team here has been very helpful with information, guidance and supplying our seed oysters..
  • The Chesapeake Bay Foundation CBF Oyster Restoration is doing some terrific work. But it is tough to restore oysters with such an active commercial harvesting program.
